Common Sense: Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous on Government Pensions. The California Pension System has too many examples of abuse. While the media focuses attention on the income of people who produce wealth in this country, they ignore the abuse of those who were once know as public servants. It appears that too many of these government workers are becoming greedy leeches. Public service was suppose to be just that, public service. It seems that too many feel that it is just another entitlement program. These officials keep saying that there is nothing to cut from government spending but teachers and police officers. It is time to reexamine these pension plans and rid the nation of this officially sanctioned greed. But with states like California reelecting the same people and expecting the rest of the nation to bail them out, we can not expect them to do it on their own. Common Sense must once again rule the day.
